Grant Applications will resume in Spring 2025


The mission of Women United is “To invest in the betterment of Lancaster County women” through their vision – “Achieve impactful change in the education, economic mobility and health of Lancaster County women.”

Each year, Women United grants rotate through the three focus areas within their vision. This funding model was introduced in 2019, with the focus of promoting financial stability through further education and the increased financial empowerment of Lancaster County women.

2024 Grants Focus

The focus of the 2024-2025 grant is to better the lives of Lancaster County women by promoting women’s education initiatives.

The grant period will start July 1, 2024, and end June 30, 2025.

Funds Available

Up to $60,000 available, with grants ranging from $10,000 (minimum) to $20,000 (maximum).

Eligibility

Eligibility for funding will be determined based on the assessment of the following:

  • Current 501(c)3 designation from IRS
  • Registered with the PA Bureau of Charitable Organizations unless otherwise exempt.
  • IRS Form 990
  • W-9 Form
  • Annual audit or financial review by an independent CPA within last 12 months
  • Comply with United Way’s Inclusiveness policy.

Application Process

Application and submission information can be found at United Way of Lancaster County’s website.

All applications that meet the minimum requirements will be reviewed and evaluated by a designated Review Committee. Successful applicants will be asked to present their proposal to Women United members at a membership meeting in the first week of June (more event details will be communicated).
