Women United invests in the betterment of Lancaster County women. Member contributions are invested in programs and initiatives through an annual grant process. Each year the grant focuses on a different area of United Way’s mission as it relates to women; achieve impactful change in the education, economic mobility and health of Lancaster County women.

The Rotary-United Way Summer Youth Experience Grant is a partnership with the United Way of Lancaster that provides support for nonprofits that offer summer learning opportunities for youth ages 5-17 in our community.

Since 2006, this grant has allowed nonprofits to offer quality educational programs that focus on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) as well as social-emotional development.

Food and Shelter Fund

United Way of Lancaster County has launched the Food & Shelter Fund, a locally driven initiative created to continue this essential aid work. The fund supports grants to organizations across the county that provide food, emergency shelter, and housing services, helping ensure that our most vulnerable neighbors continue to receive the care and stability they need. As needs in our community evolve, the Food & Shelter Fund remains responsive and flexible, allowing United Way and its partners to direct resources where they are needed most.

"211 is more than just a link to community services. We are a vital lifeline to our neighbors. The empathy, care, compassion and above all else, respect 211 displays to those experiencing life’s challenges is the epitome of being neighborly. We exist to lift our neighbors up by educating and empowering them to real solutions to help them thrive in their personal lives and communities--this is the power of 211."
