The holiday season is a time of celebration for many, but we also recognize that it can be a difficult time for others. At United Way of Lancaster County, we believe in the power of compassion and community support. That’s why we’ve created the Holiday Giving Guide — a resource to connect those who want to give back with local nonprofits in need.
This guide features opportunities to donate time, goods, or services to organizations that are working hard to brighten the holidays for individuals and families in our community. By volunteering or contributing, you can help bring joy and relief to those who need it most this season.

November:
- Thanksgiving Dinner – (Ebenezer Baptist Church)
- Thanksgiving Meal Pickup – Solanco Neighborhood Ministries
- Rescue Mission Food Drive – (Water Street Mission)
- The UDS Gift Wrap Booth at Park City Mall – (United Disabilities Services)
- Toys for Tots – (Strasburg Borough Police Department)
December:
- Pet Photos with Santa & Million Meal Challenge Donation Drive – Humane Pennsylvania
- Winter Carnival: A Magical Holiday Celebration – Lancaster Recreation Commission
- Lafayette Toy Express – (Lafayette Fire Company)
- Rescue Mission Food Drive – (Water Street Mission)
Ongoing:
- Elizabethtown Emergency Shelter – (Echos)
