Women United invests in the betterment of Lancaster County women. Member contributions are invested in programs and initiatives through an annual grant process. Each year the grant focuses on a different area of United Way’s mission as it relates to women; achieve impactful change in the education, economic mobility and health of Lancaster County women.

Because of the generosity, passion, and commitment of this community, Women United will be awarding $100,000 in grant funding to five nonprofit organizations advancing the health and wellbeing of women and teen girls across Lancaster County.

2026-2027 Women United grants will support:

YWCA Lancaster — Sexual Assault Prevention and Counseling Center

Church World Service — Healing Pathway: Mental Health Support for Refugee and Immigrant Women

Girls on the Run — Women Leading Well

Lititz Public Library in partnership with WellSpan Health — Mobile Mammography Unit

Union Community Care — Reproductive Health Access

Thank you to our Women United members, guests, nonprofit presenters, and community supporters for making our annual meeting so meaningful and inspiring!

One of the most powerful moments of the night came as we honored the legacy of Kay Burky, the sitting Chair of Women United, who sadly passed away earlier this year. With her husband, Scott, and sister, Kim, in attendance, we reflected on Kay’s extraordinary leadership, compassion, and commitment to women and families in Lancaster County.

In a moving surprise, Scott announced an additional $30,000 gift in honor of Kay’s legacy — expanding the impact of this year’s grants from $70,000 to $100,000 and continuing the work Kay cared so deeply about.
