UNITED WAY ANNOUNCES 2009 INVESTMENTS
On Thursday October 16, United Way of Lancaster County's Board of Directors approved funding to 84 programs at United Way partners. Including grants and special projects, more than $5 million will be devoted to five issues prioritized by the community during the 2005 assessment. Read more about these investments.

During the holidays we receive many calls regarding special holiday programs. Many of the calls are from persons who are inquiring about how to receive assistance from programs such as Toys for Tots, food baskets or free meals. However, we also receive many calls from businesses, schools and families who want to donate items, adopt families or volunteer their time to help those in need. Whether you are in need of assistance or are looking to provide assistance, we invite you to click here for information.

NAVIGATING HARD TIMES
Members of our community are feeling the effects of the economic downturn in many ways. For some, the current situation has meant the loss of a job or a home. For others, there is no immediate crisis, but there is concern.

Navigating Hard Times, a resource publication, has been prepared to guide people to the services that can best help them. Several organizations in Lancaster County can help with managing finances, obtaining discount or free health services, food, clothing, shelter, or other services.
