Women United invests in the betterment of women in Lancaster County. Member contributions support programs and initiatives through an annual grant process. Each year, the grant focuses on a different area of United Way’s mission as it relates to women, advancing meaningful change in education, financial stability, and health.

Because of the generosity, passion, and commitment of this community, Women United awarded $100,000 in grant funding to five nonprofit organizations working to improve the health and wellbeing of women and teen girls across Lancaster County.

IN MEMORY OF KAY BURKY, CHAIR OF WOMEN UNITED

This year's Women United Annual Meeting brought together members, guests, nonprofit presenters, and community supporters for an evening of connection, reflection, and impact.

One of the most meaningful moments of the evening honored the legacy of Kay Burky, Chair of Women United, who passed away earlier this year. With her husband, Scott, and sister, Kim, in attendance, the room reflected on Kay’s extraordinary leadership, compassion, and deep commitment to women and families in Lancaster County. Read Kay's obituary here.

In a powerful tribute, Scott announced an additional $30,000 gift in Kay’s honor, increasing this year’s grant pool from $70,000 to $100,000 and further extending the reach of the work she was so passionate about advancing. This allowed all presenting organization to be FULLY FUNDED.

Thank you, Scott for your incredible generosity!
