United Way of Lancaster County Awards More Than $102,000 in Pre-K Scholarships for Local Families
LANCASTER, PA (June 1, 2026) – United Way of Lancaster County announced $102,875.75 in Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Pre-K Scholarships to support children and families across Lancaster County with access to high-quality early childhood education programs.
Through Pennsylvania’s EITC program, eligible businesses receive tax credits for contributions made to qualified organizations like United Way of Lancaster County. Those contributions are then transformed into Pre-K scholarships for families experiencing financial hardship, helping children access early learning opportunities that build a strong foundation for future success.
“Access to affordable, high-quality early childhood education is critical for working families and for the long-term success of our community,” said Julie Kennedy, Director of Advocacy & Engagement. “These scholarships help reduce financial barriers for families while ensuring more children enter kindergarten ready to learn and thrive.”
Scholarship funding was distributed to the following early childhood education providers throughout Lancaster County:
- Diamond Street Early Childhood Center — $40,559.15
- Elizabethtown Child Care Center — $21,806.25
- Elizabethtown Community Nursery School — $3,891.60
- Lititz Christian Early Learning Center — $8,550.00
- Little People Daycare School of Columbia — $3,300.00
- Luthercare for Kids — $6,093.75
- Tomorrow’s World Early Learning Center — $3,375.00
- U-GRO Learning Centres — $2,250.00
- Uni-Vision Lancaster — $13,050.00
