Welcome to United Way of Lancaster County’s new blog! Our blog will give us a unique opportunity to share news, updates and stories of the impact United Way and our Community Impact Partners are making in the community. If you’re wondering what you can expect from the content you find on our blog, and how the information here differs from the information you may find on our website, read on.
Our blog will allow us to leverage social technologies to engage in two-way communication with our community and to take your feedback into consideration as we create new content. In addition, we’ll use the blog to share multimedia, such as videos, photos and more. Here you’ll also find client stories, event updates, volunteer opportunities and advocacy news, as well as details on other ways to support the mission of United Way of Lancaster County. We’ll also post updates on our work to achieve the Four Bold Goals set for Lancaster County. If you don’t know what those goals are, our vision is that, by 2025:
- 100% of our children will enter kindergarten ready to learn
- 100% of our students and adults will have post-secondary credentials
- We will decrease individuals and families living in poverty by 50%
- 100% of individuals, children and families will have a medical home
As we continue to build our blog, you’ll read about the progress of our Community Impact Partnerships, made up of more than 100 nonprofit organizations, schools and colleges, health care providers, faith-based organizations, businesses, and government entities, who are collaborating to improve lives here in Lancaster County and achieve these Bold Goals.
Why have we committed to these goals? Because United Way of Lancaster County is more than just a fundraising organization. We are game changers in how we think about and tackle our community’s most challenging problems. United We Fight. United We ALL Win is a theme you will hear a lot from us over the next year. We hope you will join us in our fight. It will take all of us, United, to solve our County’s difficult problems. We look forward to growing with you as we embark on this new journey. Thanks for stopping by!
