United Way of Lancaster County Receives Platinum Seal from GuideStar

As United Way of Lancaster County celebrates 95 years of making a positive impact in our county, we are honored to announce that GuideStar has recognized United Way of Lancaster County with the 2019 Platinum Seal of Transparency, GuideStar’s most prestigious award. Fewer than one percent of all nonprofits earn this highest level of recognition from GuideStar, the world’s largest database of information on nonprofit organizations.

To reach the Platinum level, United Way of Lancaster County added extensive information to its nonprofit profile on GuideStar, including in-depth financial information, qualitative information about goals, strategies and capabilities; and quantitative information regrading results and progress toward our mission. This dedication to transparency offers donors and funders meaningful data by which to evaluate United Way of Lancaster County. By sharing metrics that highlight progress United Way of Lancaster County is making toward its mission, GuideStar is helping donors move beyond simplistic ways of nonprofit evaluation such as overhead ratios.
