Three years ago, United Way of Lancaster County made a bold move.  To more effectively impact systemic, social change, United Way’s Board of Directors decided to move away from funding individual agencies and programs to funding intentional partnerships working together under the collective impact model to achieve bold goals in education, financial stability, and health. Over the past three years, we have seen these cross-sector partnerships grow and work together to help to build a heathy, more resilient Lancaster County. Through these efforts, we have had the honor and joy of seeing families reunified and charting their paths out of poverty, individuals acquiring tools needed to attain better jobs, children receiving high-quality early education, and families moving into their first homes and being connected with a medical home – progress that would not have been possible without collective impact.

Systemic change is bold. Expansive. Inclusive. It involves new thinking, more people and organization at the table, and courageous dreamers who refuse to accept the status quo. In the next three-year grant cycle, we will empower Collective Impact Partnerships to develop meaningful, highly collaborative, cross-sector, county-wide coalitions which will achieve bold success through data-based measurement.

United Way of Lancaster County is pleased to announce three-year funding opportunities starting July 1, 2018.  Grants up to $300,000 will be awarded to partnerships of Lancaster County stakeholders committed to achieving at least one of United Way’s Bold Goals.
