United Way offers a unique opportunity for philanthropists who give $1,000,000 or more over a period of one to five years to be recognized as a permanent member of the Tocqueville Society Million Dollar Roundtable. In addition to opportunities for national recognition, learning, and networking, Million Dollar Roundtable members receive an individualized update on the status of their investment with United Way. This very special group of philanthropists is part of a key leadership force across the globe. Million Dollar Roundtable members are invited to all Leadership Giving programs and activities, featured in an annual Leadership Giving report, and honorary hosts of our annual Leadership Giving Reception.
Million dollar gifts may be directed to a specific purpose that matches the investor’s priorities or to the United Way endowment fund to help perpetuate United Way’s impact into the future. Investments may be outright gifts of cash, stock, or other property; they may also be deferred gifts such as life insurance, trusts, or annuities.
United Way of Lancaster County recognizes Elva Boyd Wilson as the first local Million Dollar Roundtable member. Her investment in United Way has focused on Financial Stability and creating opportunities for those in poverty to overcome barriers.
