2010 EARLY CARE AND LEARNING AWARD NOMINATIONS To celebrate the Week of the Young Child (April 11-17), Success By 6 United Way of Lancaster County will recognize an area child care center, a family or group child care home, a local employer and a local individual for their work in the healthy development and early education of all young children. Success By 6 requests the community's assistance in identifying nominees deserving of the following awards: The Child Care Center Award for a quality child care center that has made the greatest strides in improving or maintaining the quality of care during the past two years and advocates for children and their families. The Child Care Provider Award for a quality family or group child care home that has made the greatest strides in improving or maintaining quality of care during the past two years. Additionally, this child care provider is an advocate for children and their families. The Early Childhood Leadership Award honors a Lancaster County person who made a significant impact in the past two years in the field of early childhood by leading, teaching, mentoring and advocating for early childhood initiatives. The Carol D. Hess Children's Champion Award recognizes a Lancaster County employer who has responded ot the needs of employees regarding children and child care, and acts as a an advocate for children and families in early childhood initiatives.
