UNITED WAY SURPRISED THREE DONORS WITH ITS CAMPAIGN INCENTIVE DRAWING
Prize Patrol Delivers a Chevy, a Harley and a Caribbean Cruise

Lancaster, PA (December 5, 2005) – Which prize would you choose…a car, a motorcycle or a tropical getaway? Richell See, an employee of Kellogg’s, was faced with that decision as the first person selected during United Way of Lancaster County’s campaign incentive drawing.

Richell chose the car. “I don’t give to win any prizes,” she said, “but this is just wonderful!”

With the support of three local businesses, United Way of Lancaster County’s prize patrol delivered a 2006 Chevrolet Aveo donated by Faulkner Chevrolet, a 2006 XL883 Harley Davidson Sportster courtesy of Lancaster Harley Davidson, Inc. and a seven day Caribbean Cruise provided by Travel Time Travel Agency, Inc.

“Giving away a new car, a new motorcycle and a Caribbean cruise is a great way to kick-off the holiday season,” says Joe Del Tito, Chair of the 2005 United Way of Lancaster County Campaign. “It’s also a great way to thank the community for their generosity and remind those who haven’t donated, yet, that there is still time to give.” At Pfizer in Lititz, Jack Palmer was overwhelmed to learn he was the second place winner. He chose the motorcycle. “I knew right away I wanted the Harley,” he said.

The prize patrol made its last stop at Certified Carpet where Michael Landis won the cruise. “Thank you for this wonderful gift,” he said surrounded by his co-workers. This is twelfth year United Way of Lancaster County has raffled prizes to reward its contributors. The three winners were selected from approximately 12,000 entries this year.

Del Tito wrapped-up the day. “We are very thankful for the support of Faulkner Chevrolet, Lancaster Harley Davidson and Travel Time for these three wonderful prizes,” he said. “Along with our donors, these businesses make this possible.”

Now, more than ever, United Way of Lancaster County’s resources, agencies and programs are providing services to improve lives and build stronger communities. In support of this effort, United Way’s 2005 campaign will continue through the end of the year. For more information, please call 394-0731 or visit the organization’s website at www.uwlanc.org.
