UNITED WAY ANNOUNCES 2005 LOANED REPRESENTATIVES
Lancaster, PA (October 24, 2005) – Helping to make its annual Campaign a success, United Way of Lancaster County is announcing the 2005 Loaned Representative roster.
During their 12 weeks as “LRs,” the loaned representatives support the United Way’s workplace campaigns by assisting with company kick-offs, coordinating agency tours and explaining how United Way and its partner agencies impact the community to potential investors.
A major part of the United Way team from Labor Day to Thanksgiving, the 13 temporary employees are: Thelma Aubel, community volunteer; Anita Bachman, Armstrong Lancaster Plant/USWA Steel Workers Local #285; Kristi Beam, Bank of Lancaster County; Donna Buchter, Precision Medical Products; Erin Finegan, Fulton Financial Corporation; Doyle “Butch” Fouse, Armstrong Ceiling Plant/USWA Steel Workers – Unit #441; Nikki Gassert, Tri-Starr Staffing Solutions; Bill Hyman, retired from CNH America LLC; Sally Landis, D&E Communications; Mike Smucker, Yellow Transportation/Teamster Local #771; Heather Ussery, RR Donnelley Financial; Eddie Vuong, Fulton Financial Corporation; Amber Weaver, sponsored by Susquehanna Bank; and Donna Woodward, Pfizer/Pace 2-670.
At the half-way point of the LRs time commitment, the United Way staff is delighted with the loaned representatives’ contributions to the 2005 Campaign.
“With fewer LRs than previous years, the loaned representatives are accomplishing their goals, organizing additional meetings and opening new doors,” says Susan Eckert, President of United Way of Lancaster County. “They approach their new assignment with energy and determination and will return to their workplaces with new skills.”
This year’s LRs were recruited by Alison van Harskamp, Vice President and Director of Communications for Susquehanna Bancshares, Inc. and Jean Martin, President of Lancaster United Labor Council.
Now, more than ever, United Way of Lancaster County’s resources, agencies and programs are providing services to improve lives and build stronger communities. For more information, please call 394-0731 or visit the organization’s website at www.uwlanc.org.
