Strategic Plan

As the nation's leading community solutions provider, United Way invests in
and activates the resources to make the greatest possible impact in
communities across America. The United Way movement includes approximately
1,400 community-based United Way organizations. Each is independent,
separately incorporated, and governed by local volunteers.

United Way brings communities together to focus on the most important needs in the community - - building partnerships, forging consensus and leveraging resources to make a measurable difference.

The mission of your United Way is to build a stronger Lancaster County
by mobilizing the caring power of our community
.
We fulfill this mission by addressing three specific goals.

In our everyday operations we LEAD, RAISE and INVEST to best serve the needs of our community.

Goal One: LEAD
Act in a leadership capacity to enable our community to meet human needs.
We address this goal through activities like needs assessments, coalition building, advocacy, diversity, business excellence and increased non-profit capacity.

Goal Two: RAISE
Raise resources to provide for human need.
This is achieved through campaign, planned giving and endowments and grantsmanship.

Goal Three: INVEST
Invest resources to produce results which meet human needs.
We accomplish this goal with community problem-solving, the allocation of funds, assurance of program effectiveness, information and referral services, volunteer development and outcome measurement.
