Community Assessment -Assess and engage the community. Determine priorities, measure progress and results.

Inclusion -Develop diverse leadership for nonprofit organizations.

Advocacy -Advocate for solutions to priorities with government, public, private and nonprofit sectors.

Voluntarism -Influence community conditions by targeting volunteers to specific priority areas, and advocate for voluntary action.

RESOURCES AND RESULTS

Improve community conditions by stimulating giving and seeking increased resources.

Campaign -Increase annual fundraising.

Planned Giving and Endowment -Obtain planned gifts and increase the endowment.

Grantsmanship and Other Resources -Secure grants from private and public resources and generate other resources such as contracts, sponsorships and new revenue.

Community Planning and Problem Solving -Develop community plans, apply resources to priorities and measure results in community conditions.

Information and Referral -Serve as the comprehensive resource center and refer persons in need to services.

Collaboration and Coalition Building -Ensure collaboration and promote coalition building.

Operate with excellence and transparency.

Performance Excellence -Improve continually, exceed customer expectations and act as an example of and catalyst for quality service.
Transparency -Perform all procedures in compliance with Board approved policies in an open environment.
Knowledge Management -Institutionalize knowledge management of the community and United Way.
