Opportunities for Caring

Opportunities for Caring is periodically updated by the United Way Volunteer Center to help people find meaningful volunteer opportunities at nonprofit agencies throughout Lancaster County.

The publication includes:

• Information on Agencies
• Comprehensive Lists of Volunteer Opportunities at Each Agency
• Boards of Directors and Board Committee Information
• Youth Opportunities
• College Student Opportunities/Internships

In addition, the publication includes an index of all agencies, cross-referenced by category, to help you locate the type of volunteer opportunity that best suits your needs. This information will help you locate activities that interest you. You then contact the individual agency directly for further information.

United Way of Lancaster County's Volunteer Center is a clearinghouse for information on volunteering. In addition to the opportunities listed in this directory, we write a biweekly column, Volunteer Connection, in the Lancaster Sunday News. It focuses on immediate needs of local agencies and lists many one-time projects.

Our goal is to make your volunteer experience the best it can be. Many lifelong friendships are established when someone lends a helping hand.
