Day of Caring

Day of Caring is the kickoff for United Way of Lancaster County's annual campaign. About 2,500 participants usually take part in our annual Day of Caring, pitching in to help the community with a variety of activities including waterway cleanup, painting, carpentry, cleaning houses for the elderly, reading to children, yard work and landscaping, clerical work, and much more.

Despite the flooding and disruption cased by Tropical Storm Lee, our 2011 Day of Caring took place on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 9-10 across Lancaster County, with nearly 2,300 families, individuals and employee teams from local companies and organizations completing more than 150 projects for about 70 local nonprofit organizations.
