United Way of Lancaster County works with businesses, government, schools, and other leading nonprofit organizations to identify and address community needs. Through program funding, local initiatives, and community-wide collaboration, United Way provides solutions that touch lives and change community conditions. United Way represents the collective power of people working toward long-term solutions, not short-term fixes.

Maintaining an active presence

United Way of Lancaster County’s commitment to our community goes far beyond our annual campaign. Maintaining an active presence in community planning and taking a leadership role in helping to solve some of the most critical issues in Lancaster County is a year-round focus.

More than a fundraiser

The original concept for United Way was to consolidate the fundraising efforts of multiple agencies to lower administrative costs. Today, United Way assesses the needs of the community, and with our volunteer leadership,  develops, identifies, evaluates, and supports high-impact programs to address our community's most pressing needs. Our priority areas are ducation, Financial Stability, and Health, plus safety net services for our most volnerable populations.

Building community

From reducing hunger and homelessness to creating more full-day, quality child care openings for families, United Way is committed to supporting solutions to issues that matter most to our community, and developing and funding the programs that do the most good for the most people.
