Days of Action

Nelson and Jean Polite Days of Action

This year's United Way Day of Action will be different than other days of service. This year, Day of Action will be used as a way to remember and celebrate the lives of Nelson and Jean Polite. Two individuals who meant so much and did so much to further their community.

To honor his memory, we are proud to announce the Nelson and Jean Polite Days of Action, in partnership with the Polite Family and the Polite Family Community Association. The Days of Action will take place over the course of the first weekend in June—this year June 4-6. It will be a weekend devoted to community service, focusing on the southeastern end of Lancaster City. This is an opportunity to engage the community and bring people together!

The Lancaster Community is also invited to attend the Strawberry Festival. On Saturday, June 4th from 1p.m. to 5p.m. the event is FREE! Come out to help us celebrate a weekend of action in honor of the Polites. There will be food, fundraisers, and fun for all! Come out to learn more about the great work going on in the community, and learn more about Nelson and Jean’s Legacy.
