BankOn Lancaster is a voluntary partnership between banks, credit unions, and community based organizations that provide a path to mainstream banking for all residents of Lancaster County.

Our partnering banks and credit unions offer no or low cost checking or savings accounts that will help you keep more of your money.
There are no or low monthly fees or minimum balances so you can have access to all your money each month.
You may be eligible even if you have had trouble in the past. Our partnering banks and credit unions are willing to work with individuals who have troubled banking histories and help them back on the path to mainstream banking.
WHY DO I NEED AN ACCOUNT?
It’s safe. You can’t lose money or have it stolen while it’s in the account. And, the federal government guarantees your money.∗
It’s smart. Access to your money is free. Unlike using check cashing businesses, cashing your check at a bank won’t cost you any money.
It’s convenient. You can write checks to pay your bills. No need to buy money orders. Other services include direct deposit, online banking, and automatic bill paying.

HOW DO I OPEN AN ACCOUNT?
Call 2-1-1 to learn what financial institutions participate in your area.
Talk with them about opening a "BankOn Lancaster" account. These accounts mayprovide a basic checking or savingsaccount with no monthly fees and no minimum balances.
Remember to bring identification. Most banks and credit unions will require primary and secondary identification.
